The Codex

This record is not complete. What follows is gathered from fragments, testimony, and failed attempts. Knowledge does not grant control. Only truth grants access.

ENTRY 1 - The Soulprint

(Zan’Aethran Record)

“The egg opens for truth, not fear.”
“If your soul matches what sleeps inside, it will wake.”
Every living being leaves an imprint upon the world. This is not memory, nor spirit alone, but the pattern formed when truth, intention,
and choice align. We named this pattern the Soulprint. It is not fixed at birth. It is shaped by action. It strengthens through honesty. It fractures through coercion. No two Soulprints are identical. No Soulprint can be copied without damage.  The Soulprint is what the Egg listens for.

ENTRY  2 - Bond Types

The Zan’Aethran recorded that not all bonds form in the same way.

Some bonds are stable.

Others are harmful.
The difference is not the creature.

It is how the bond begins.

ENTRY 3 - Ritual Language

We do not bind meaning to language.
Words are only vessels.

Intent is the true voice.

ENTRY 4 - Truebound

A Truebound forms when a person and an egg respond to each other willingly.
The bond cannot be forced.
It cannot be rushed.
A Truebound does not require confidence or bravery.
Fear and doubt do not stop it.
What matters is that the person is not pretending or trying to become someone else.
In a Truebound:

  • the hybrid responds calmly to the person

  • the bond does not need commands or pressure to hold

  • the hybrid’s power is steady and predictable

  • both the person and the hybrid can rest without harm

A Truebound is not something to control or own.
It is a shared bond built on trust.

ENTRY 5 - Falsebound

A Falsebound forms when an egg is awakened through force.
This may happen through fear, pain, pressure, or artificial methods meant to copy a real bond.
The bond may appear successful at first.
It is not stable.
In a Falsebound:

  • the bond must be maintained through commands or control

  • the hybrid reacts unpredictably

  • power surges without warning

  • the person grows weaker instead of stronger

Falsebound hybrids show signs of stress and damage.
They do not settle.
They do not feel safe.

ENTRY 6 - Binding and Release

The Zan’Aethran recorded that a bond does not begin with force or command.

The Binding Words
When a soul is ready, the bond may be awakened using the following words:
By essence of thought,

By mirror of truth,

What lives in me,

Awaken now.
These words are not a command. They are a focus. The Zan’Aethran noted that the
words help the mind and soul align. If the bond is meant to form, it will respond.

If it is not, nothing will happen. Speaking the words alone does not create a bond.

ENTRY 7 - Influence and Control.

The Zan'Aethran recorded that control does not always arrive through force.
It often begins with small changes that seem helpful or harmless. Words are repeated. Rules are simplified. Choices are reduced “for safety.”  People are told what is best for them, often by someone who sounds calm and reasonable. Over time, questioning feels unnecessary. Then it feels risky.

Then it feels wrong. The Zan’Aethran warned that when influence is applied slowly, people may believe they chose it themselves.
This form of control is difficult to notice and harder to resist, because it does not feel like danger.

Important Notes on Binding

The words do not force the egg to awaken, Saying them incorrectly does not cause harm.  Silence does not prevent a true bond.  The bond responds to honest y. The Zan’Aethran warned against repeating the words in anger or desperation.
